Let me say that I never thought there was going to be a sequel to Bogus Journey because it seemed like the guys had done it. and they had "God Gave Rock n Roll To You" by KISS that sealed the deal. but I gotta say, I really loved this movie. you know, for a Bill & Ted movie. It's not going to win an Oscar.
Of course the dilemma is that the guys haven't written THE SONG. we thought they HAD with the end of Bogus Journey but twas not the case. And now the universe is going to come to an end if they don't actually write the song.
There were a couple of weird plot points. The WE stuff vs I and the princesses also traveling through time. I would have like to follow them a bit more and hear some conversations between older them and young them. But overall in a cool twist the daughters that took it upon themselves to help Bill & Ted by building them a band and much like the first film, they went throughout time to find the most amazing musicians possible. Of course people will argue this guy or that girl but it's a movie. get over it.
In the end it was nice to see how the guys accepted what had happened and their role. and in an awesome twist, the daughters helped them writing THE SONG that saved the universe. No it wasn't nearly as killer as KISS but that's a tough act to follow. the point is they got everyone throughout the universe to sing and play at the same time in a cosmic jam session and right now. with people so angry and divided. it felt really good to just sing something simple and beautiful and feel good about it.
The original is still the best, Bogus is a very close second and this was an appropriate ending at a time when people needed something to laugh at and maybe cry a bit at the end. Hey. I got something in my eye. SHUT UP.
